How it all started

New Wave Construction was born in 2006, by local Aucklander Ben Kevey-Maiden. Initially, it was just Ben doing everything by himself. On the tools, doing the books, quoting etc. Since then Ben’s team has grown to himself, his partner Ali, their little princess Ngahuia, 2 qualified builders, 2 apprentices and a few labourers. All New Wave team members are highly skilled and extremely passionate about building unique, high-quality homes.

The New Wave team pride themselves on their pedantic way of building, ensuring every element of your build is bang on time, budget, and client specifications. To ensure your build is kept to the highest possible standard Ben prides himself on keeping the New Wave Construction team small, energetic and passionate.

Owner / Operator Ben believes it’s important to always have a touch in each project because when the owner isn’t involved in the build is when quality and workmanship can slip. Practicing what they preach, you will always have the owner, operator on site, running your job and extremely hands-on with your build. This ensures if you have any questions, the owner will be on site to answer your questions and explain the process the team are undergoing.

New Wave Construction specialise in the integration of materials such as concrete, metals and exotic and native timbers. All builds undertaken by New Wave are unique and customised to you, your family, your budget and your dreams.

The New Wave team are registered Licensed Building Practitioner's, HazardCo. Member's, and Eco Building Certified. The team stand by the quality of all projects, providing a 12- month maintenance guarantee and a 10- year consumer guarantee on all builds.
